Children tell it like it is... which often leaves adults hysterical, shocked and amused. As long as it's not your child, you'll find these funny kid stories entertaining and good fun. I've taken the best stories submitted to my website, HeardonthePlayground, by parents, grandparents, teachers, relatives, and friends from across the nation. The result is a book that's like KIDS SAY THE DARNDEST THINGS on a sugar high with a little 21st century reality thrown in. And as an added bonsu, the illustrations are drawings done by kids. Where else will you find one-of-kind drawings by kids illustrating stories about a birthday cake on fire, and my personal favorite - a kid throwing up. Publishing a book, is not as easy as you think. Since my only investor is my husband (I don't ever recommend sleeping with your investor), I had to really watch my bottom line. As a result, my main illustrator was my eight-year-old daughter, Valarie. She was selected because my older son only likes to draw things blowing up, and my three year old is the Jackson Pollack of scribbles. To complete the artwork on time for the book within the budget my husband set, additional highly talented artists in the ten and under range were recruited. Artwork was contributed by Detroit Country Day lower school students, my ten-year-old next door neighbor, and my editor's daughter. You have to see the artwork to appreciate what an amazing job these children did. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed putting it together. Share the laughs. Read more
